Uncle Gary’s Rock & Rib Fest Returns to the Wellington Ampitheater on April 1
March 21, 2017 | bridge
Barbecue lovers unite at Wellington Amphitheater for a great cause on April 1 at Uncle Gary’s Rock & Rib Fest. Back for its 12th year, this event unites the community to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. The event originated as a casual family barbecue to celebrate the life of Gary’s only daughter, who passed away from cancer when she was only a toddler. Once the event started growing, they partnered with the Kids Cancer Foundation to raise money to help find a cure.
Admission to the event is free, and it runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring an appetite, as you’ll want to try the incredible baby back ribs, smoked pork tenderloins, juicy burgers, chicken, and so much more. Throughout the evening there will be multiple local bands who take the stage, so sit back and enjoy. If you’re feeling particularly lucky, take part in the 50/50 raffle or purchase tickets to try your hand at winning one of the donated raffle prizes for the day to support the cause. There will be tons of games for all ages, as well as a Kids Zone for the little guys to explore with inflatables and face painting.
